Covid-19 Raising the Fear of Losing Parenthood Chances Among Awaited Parents
Covid-19 has affected every strata of society. Be it rich, poor, old ones, youngsters or even the ones who haven’t arrived on this planet yet, Yes, you read it right! As, there are many people who are planning for their little ones but due to these uncertain times and very dusky future, the parents to be, are getting very anxious and unsure about the future.
The ongoing pandemic has brought new topics for discussions like isolation, vaccination, lockdown, and a number of other things. Ban is put up on traveling from one place to another thus restricting the movement to come to Hyderabad for their fertility treatments. Few had already booked their appointment and few had listed it in their diary. But, now they are just controlling their anxiety levels and checking guidelines of travel restrictions every day.

According to Infertility experts, these uncertain times have taken a toll on their health be it physically or even mentally. According to the Owner and Director of Kiran Infertility Center – Dr. Samit Sekhar, “When patients are on both control pills (usually prescribed before IVF) for very long, it can impact their physiology. He added how dragging this “fertility preservation process” is turning out to be most difficult for women suffering from cancer.
“However those who are located in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai are able to travel and attend the KIC clinics located In those cities. We provide a letter to the patients asking the authorities to allow them to travel since they are undergoing fertility treatments”-says Dr. Sekhar
