Every Woman when born has an ovarian reserve of at least 2 million eggs and\u00a0normally an adult Menstruating woman will produce a healthy egg every month. But\u00a0some women have poor quality eggs or no eggs at all. It\u2019s sometimes impossible for these women to become pregnant or carry their pregnancies to term. In such a scenario most women nowadays consider other reproductive options including the use of donor eggs.<\/p>\n
If an infertile couple cannot be helped through procedures such as in vitro fertilization\/intra cytoplasmic sperm injection because of poor quality eggs or genetic or chromosomal abnormality, they may want to consider using donor eggs. Donor eggs- and sometimes donor embryos- allow an infertile woman to carry a child of her own and give birth. The use of donor eggs in an ivf setting is becoming more common, especially among women over 35.<\/p>\n
Egg donation as per norms is anonymous, but some couples prefer to know their egg donor and take legal steps to contract for the donation of the eggs. An egg donor contract that explicitly spells out the terms of any future relationship should always be used, even when the donor is close friend or relative.\u00a0Some commissioning parents for ivf and surrogacy insist on finding a donor themselves and at our clinic we allow this.<\/p>\n
