{"id":1774,"date":"2014-10-08T05:14:10","date_gmt":"2014-10-08T05:14:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kiranivfgenetic.com\/blog\/?p=1774"},"modified":"2015-11-24T15:30:20","modified_gmt":"2015-11-24T10:00:20","slug":"new-rights-surrogacy-fathers-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kiranivfgenetic.com\/blog\/new-rights-surrogacy-fathers-uk\/","title":{"rendered":"New rights for Surrogacy fathers in UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anticipant fathers of pregnant women now have the right to take leave for antepartum appointments, the government has announced.<\/p>\n<p>With the announcement the right also extends to long-term partners of the mother even if they are not married or the parents in a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/kiranivfgenetic.com\">surrogacy<\/a> agreement for getting the child.\u00a0 They have the right to two appointments and can take up to six and a half hours for each. Employers are able to provide even longer time if they opt.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Department for Business, Innovation and Skills\u00a0brought in this policy as part of the government\u2019s tries to encourage the involvement of fathers and partners in the early lives of children.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jo_Swinson\">Jo Swinson<\/a>, the Employment Relations Minister, said the move would \u201ckick start a culture change in workplaces\u201d to make fathers \u201cfeel more convinced talking to their employers about taking leave for childcare\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She added that the next move for the government is\u00a0to introduce <strong>shared parental leave<\/strong>. This would give moms and adopters \u201c<em>real choice about when they return to work<\/em>\u201d and allow fathers \u201c<em>more time to bond with their children<\/em>\u201d, she said.\u00a0Shared parental leave will becomeeffective from <strong>April 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a02015<\/strong> onwards for children born, or adoptions made.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"text-align: center;\" href=\"http:\/\/kiranivfgenetic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/130627162800-new-dad-baby-shutterstock-horizontal-gallery1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1777 aligncenter\" title=\"Surrogacy in India\" src=\"http:\/\/kiranivfgenetic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/130627162800-new-dad-baby-shutterstock-horizontal-gallery1.jpg\" alt=\"Surrogacy in India\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anticipant fathers of pregnant women now have the right to take leave for antepartum appointments, the government has announced.
