IVF treatments involve several steps before the fertilization process. Medications are prescribed to stimulate ovulation before the retrieval of eggs. Retrieval is a minimally invasive, daycare procedure where the doctor extracts the eggs from the follicles developing on the surface of the ovaries.

Sperm is extracted from the male partner by ejaculation or Aspiration or biopsy, and the Andrology team prepares the sample, separating the sperm from other seminal fluid contents. Once the sperm and egg are ready for fertilization the infertility expert uses a technique known as ICSI where a micro-thin pipette is used to inject a single sperm into the egg.  After the fertilization process is completed in the lab the embryo is cultured until it reaches a blastocyst stage, when either a fresh or frozen transfer is done.
