How does Egg Donation work?

Embryos are generated through the Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). In order to minimize numerous pregnancies, additional embryos are preserved by cooling them below the freezing point in liquid nitrogen for future use this is called egg donation.

In Embryo donation procedure, Egg donors are verified for diseases such as HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and some inborn conditions such as cystic fibrosis. It is suggested that donors are less than 25 years. Recipient Couple required Donors who are matched with their characteristics such as hair color, eye color and some other characteristics as they want.

 How long does the Embryo Donation treatment take?

You can find a clinic that offers treatment using donated eggs and embryos at the Kiran Infertility Centre (K.I.C) website. When embryo donation treatment begins, it takes between four weeks and six weeks to complete one cycle of IVF.
