Facts about COVID recovered patients on their fertility

The unprecedented COVID-19 crisis has emerged as a huge challenge for couples seeking infertility treatment. The effects of COVID on human fertility after recovering from CORONA remain unclear. There is currently no definitive evidence of long-lasting damage caused by Covid-19 to sperm or male reproductive potential.

According to Dr. Samit SekharDirector Kiran Infertility Centre – “Even though the pandemic has posed a potential risk to women who are pregnant or considering childbearing it has been observed that patients who recovered from COVID have no long-term effects in the childbearing potential of both men and women.” However, according to him, stress is an important factor affecting childbearing as it leads to obesity, hypertension, and diabetes.

There is also no systematic review of the potential COVID-19 effects on female infertility. In addition, it is also a myth that COVID vaccine can affect fertility in either men or women. Gynecologists agree that the vaccine does not affect fertility in any way and if available then patients wanting to proceed with fertility treatments must take vaccine.
